The summer of 2023 saw an award-winning director Hassan Nazer, a team of producers, and our Tabassum bringing a unique project to life by working with all four local primary schools in Pollokshields together for a series of short films all made by the pupils which culminated with an Oscar ceremony for the participants. Ramadan is a month-long religious obligation that requires Muslims to fast from dusk till dawn, Pollokshields has the largest Muslim Community in Glasgow. The BBC covered our free community Iftar meals which fed over 500 people over the month. These meals were open to everyone as a means of celebration. watch it here!

The Festival of Resistance was made possible with the hard work of our Bowling Green community volunteers as well as activists from across Glasgow and established community organistaions. You can watch the crowdfunding efforts made here!
Pollokshields had only one bank left. Along with Nan McKay Community Hall, we petitioned and implored the bank to remain open. Despite our efforts we could not stop the closure. Watch our efforts here!
When residents of Pollokshields learned that the amendments made to the Nationality and Borders Bill would have a direct impact on the predominantly South Asian community residing here. We all came together to make our voices loud and clear. No one is illegal, we all belong. You can read it here!
